Located four miles south of Downtown Washington, taxi fare to the city is about $15. SuperShuttle buses from National Airport to downtown Washington cost $10 ($20 round-trip) and take about 20-minutes. Call (800) 258-3826 for information. The National Airport is also accessible via the Metro's blue and yellow lines.

Opened June 16, 1941, The Washington National Airport is situated on 860 acres---733 acres on land and 127 acres under water. The airport has direct connections to the greater Washington area’s Metrorail public transportation system. National Airport serves as a “short-haul” airport, offering nonstop service to 64 U.S. cities located no further than 1,250 miles from downtown D.C. However, six round-trip flights per day serve four cities beyond this perimeter: Denver, Phoenix (2), Las Vegas (2) and Los Angeles. Domestic & Commuter flights: (703) 417-8000.
